This notice explains what Jyotsna Electrical Ltd does with your personal information. We keep it short because we collect very little: we do not sell online, so we never take card details through this site.

Who is responsible

Jyotsna Electrical Ltd, 724 Field End Road, South Ruislip, Middlesex, HA4 0QP, is the data controller. Contact us on 0208 864 5763. Company number 04913363.

What we collect, and why

Enquiries. When you use the enquiry form we collect your name and phone number, your email address if you give one, your message, and the product you were looking at. We use it only to answer you and to arrange any sale, delivery or service that follows. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to a request you made of us, and performance of a contract once you order.

Phone calls. If you call us we may note the same details so we can quote, order a part or book a delivery.

We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, we do not sell or share them with anyone for their own marketing, and there is no automated decision-making.

Who else sees it

Only our staff, and the suppliers who run the systems behind this site: our website host and database provider, the AI services that write the chat assistant's answers (Groq, with Google as a back-up), and — where an appliance is delivered or installed by a supplier or manufacturer — that company, so they can complete your order. Each is bound to keep your data confidential and to use it only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

Chat assistant conversations are kept for 12 months and then deleted. Enquiries that do not lead to a sale are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Where you buy from us, we keep the sale record for six years, which is the period HMRC requires and which matches the guarantee and statutory-rights window.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our using it, or ask us to restrict how we use it. Just call or email — we will respond within one month and there is no charge. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

This site asks before setting any Google cookies. They let us see which pages help customers and whether a visit came from one of our Google ads (so we know if a call or enquiry followed); they are never used to show you adverts elsewhere. Google's measurement tag loads on every page in Google's "consent mode": until you choose "Accept" it sets no cookies and sends Google only anonymous, cookieless signals (for example that a page was viewed or the call button pressed), with ad-click identifiers removed, which Google uses to estimate how well our ads work. Choosing "No thanks" keeps it that way — the site then sets no cookies apart from the sign-in cookie used by shop staff in the admin area, which is strictly necessary and needs no consent.

Separately, the site counts visits anonymously: which page was shown and, when you arrive, which website sent you (for example Google or ChatGPT). This uses no cookies and records nothing that identifies you. If you accepted cookies and then send us an enquiry, we note which Google ad (if any) brought you, so that if you go on to buy we can tell Google that ad worked. Declining cookies means this is never recorded.

The chat assistant. What you type into the "Ask us" chat is sent to our AI service to write the answer, and saved with that answer, the page you were on and (if you came from an advert) which kind, so we can check the assistant tells customers the right thing and see what people ask about. We do not record who you are: no IP address or cookie, and no name or contact details unless you type them in, so please don't share personal details there; for anything about an order, call us.
